Obama Asking Latino Celebrities For Help With Immigration

President Barack Obama is asking Latino celebrities to help him overhaul the nation’s immigration system. Yes, it’s true. For some reason, the president feels that enlisting celebrities — as opposed to using the political power to pass things like the DREAM Act when he had the chance — is a good way to pass immigration reform.

The president recently asked Eva Longoria, America Ferrera, Rosario Dawson, Gloria and Emilio Estefan and others to join him at the White House today for a meeting about the issue.

If you ask me, this is an insult not only to the millions of people affected by immigration reform directly, but to Latinos in general, assuming that just because you’re Latino it means you care about immigration. Besides, what do celebrities know about complex legal issues anyways?
