Texas Groups Promote Education For Latino Kids

A few different groups in Texas have selected today, May 20, as a day where statewide attention will be paid to the future — students — and in Texas that means Latino students. May 20 has been called “Generation Texas Day” statewide and legislators, teachers and others are wearing their university t-shirts to show support for education.

And this makes sense, as we’ve reported before, if Latino students fail or do not achieve to levels that are competitive in the global economy, every single one of us in the United States will fail in different ways. The program, Generation Texas, is working in different ways to encourage Latino students to both stay in school and pursue a higher education.

Former University of Texas at Austin quarterback Vince Young even got in on the project, for more information visit here.
