Redistricting Roundup: CO, IL, WI, NV, FL & TX
Thought it would be another good time to look at redistricting around the country and how that’s affecting Latinos. We’ve written about some recent cases:
And then there’s this that we found in the news:
- One out of five of Colorado’s residents are now Latino, and that’s puzzling members of the reapportionment panel working on redistricting.
- In Illinois, there’s only one Latino district that’s been drawn.
- Latinos in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin are readying for a fight, just in case.
- One out of every four people in Nevada is Latino and they may not get a congressional seat. It’s complicated.
- There’s still a question of whether Latino voters are being packed into districts to cut off their power.
- There’s all kinds of crazy stuff happening in Texas, where some Latino districts were removed, and others were added.
- Florida is having issues, too.
