[Editor’s Note: This column is written by Lalo Alcaraz, a cartoonist, artist and creator of the first nationally syndicated, politically themed Latino daily comic strip, “La Cucaracha.”]

It’s been 40 years since President Richard Nixon declared a war on drugs — one that has been a complete failure and resulted in countless deaths, much destruction and general havoc, especially for people living in Latin America.

Join me, host of the Pocho Hour of Power,  the nation’s only English language Latino-themed political satire program, and my KPFK co-hosts Suzi Weisman along with Antonio Gonzalez of the Willie Velasquez Institute on Friday, June 17 at 4 p.m. Pacific Standard Time for a discussion.
