Texas Congressman May Propose English Only Law

Congressman Lamar Smith of Texas may consider a congressional hearing English Only legislation known as HR 997, or the English Language Unity Act, according to Progress Texas. In a report Smith said:

“I support efforts to make English the official language and may consider bringing up the issue in the House Judiciary Committee down the road.”
