Senator Bob Menendez of New Jersey has started an online campaign to encourage President Barack Obama to advocate for the expansion of immigration highlight programs in Denver and Baltimore that keep families together, according to his website. The programs allow Immigration and Customs Enforcement:
to review and possibly close the cases of immigrants without criminal records – effectively stopping deportation proceedings against them. These cases often involve children, long-term residents with children who are U.S. citizens, and the elderly.
