#3 Mitt Romney’s “Self-Deportation” Comment

In an effort to cater to the far-right base, Romney made a comment during the Arizona GOP primary debate that raised many a Latino’s eyebrow. His suggestion of how to deal with the estimated 8 million undocumented living in the U.S. was to create a toxic enough environment that would encourage them to “self-deport.” The comment plague Romney and continued to resonate with Latino voters through out the election season.
