Before seeing them at South By Southwest, I’d heard a lot about the Bay Area duo Los Rakas, but never had a chance to give them a listen.  After witnessing their performance at a small venue in Austin, Texas last March, I was completely blown away by their energy and stage presence.

According to their bio, cousins Raka Dun and Raka Rich are originally from Panama but moved to Oakland in their teens.  The unique Central-American and California blend of cultures and musical styles is apparent in their sound, especially as they seamlessly move their way through lyrics in English and Spanish.
