The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco issued a report stating that immigration has no “significant” effect on jobs available to U.S.-born workers. Something to file under “no duh.” Â Also, there are a lot of other positive benefits of immigration listed in the paper:
- immigrants expand the country’s productive capacity
- stimulate investment
- promote specialization that boosts productivity in the long-run
- allow U.S.-born workers to shift to better paying jobs
- prompt companies to upgrade equipment
- help boost overall incomes
