MIAMI, July 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — CareCloud, a leading provider of modern, cloud-based software for medical groups, has announced a partnership with CodeLLa, a non-profit that provides a safe, girls-only environment for young Hispanic girls from families living at or below the poverty level to explore entrepreneurship in tandem with coding, technology, and science. The partnership provides the girls an opportunity to learn from top females in engineering and product development.

CareCloud was founded with the goal of enhancing the delivery of healthcare services through incredible software and technology.CareCloud and CodeLLa’s partnership will continue driving that passion by empowering young females to follow their dreams to become tomorrow’s engineers and technologists.

The partnership kicked off during CodeLLa’s summer program that focuses on computational thinking, writing, public speaking, and startup lessons, with access to role models and mentors. A group of 25 girls aged 8-13 years-old participated in the event. CareCloud hosted an entire day of hands-on learning activities and interactive speaker sessions with the Miami-based company’s top female leaders.

As part of the partnership, CareCloud will provide over 20 laptop computers and gigantic room-spanning whiteboards for the girls’ computational discovery and design work to the organization. CareCloud and CodeLLa have also begun working together to create mentorship programs to be offered throughout the school year.

“I am extremely proud that CodeLLa is partnering with CareCloud, an established leader in the cloud computing health IT arena, who is generously donating computers and other resources, as well as providing accomplished women mentors to work with our young girls,” said Josie Goytisolo, founder and CEO of CodeLLa “I look forward to growing our program that brings digital equity to underprivileged Latina girls and their families with them.”

During the field trip at CareCloud, the girls met with prominent female leaders in the company — engineers, product managers, and executives alike. The CareCloud team answered questions during a panel session and responded to inquiries about what they wanted to be when they grew up, what their experiences working in tech is like, and how they got to their current positions.

“Many of these girls are seeking role models and it’s a great thing to be able to present them with strong examples of professional women at an early age,” says the event’s coordinator and emcee, Events & Outreach Manager at CareCloud, Nicole Trueba-Rossato.

After speaking with individuals on the panel, the girls got to learn how a product is built — from design and engineering to user experience and marketing. They then received instruction on how to build their own game or app.

“There is no other organization like CodeLLa. We are excited to partner with them to continue their mission to invest in these young ladies to give them a brighter future one line of code at a time,” says Ken Comee, CareCloud’s CEO.

CareCloud will present the laptop donations and sponsor the Grand Prize at the CodeLLa graduation on August 17, 2015 at Miami-Dade College’s Wolfson Campus at 5:30 PM.
