First Take: Immigration was key in Napolitano’s tenure

 WASHINGTON — When trying to size up the four-year tenure of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, look no further than a February hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Committee Republicans took turns accusing her department of ignoring federal immigration laws by allowing undocumented immigrants who should be deported to remain in the country, while protesters repeatedly interrupted her testimony, pleading with her to “stop the deportations” that were breaking up their families.
