Joaquin Castro Explains How to Tell Him Apart From Twin Brother

The Castro brothers made their political splash last summer, with San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro giving the keynote at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., and his twin brother Joaquin being elected to Congress shortly thereafter.

Now that he’s in Washington, Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas, explained how to tell the difference between the identical twins. “I do have a twin brother, Julian, the mayor of San Antonio, and it should be noted the way you tell us apart is my brother is a little uglier than I am,” the freshman congressman joked.

More seriously, Castro chatted during a breakfast event celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month about Hispanic politicians serving on the other side of the aisle.
