Latinos look hopefully for a new generation of leaders

Three out of 4 Latinos polled recently said a national Latino leader is needed.
But an almost equal number could not name one or didn’t believe a national Latino leader exists.
Mark López, director of Hispanic research at the Pew Research Center, said the Pew poll released a couple of months ago showed that for the Hispanic community, “it’s important that it have a national leader that can advance the concerns of the community.”
This would indicate that many Latinos do not believe their concerns have been heard at the highest levels of government, and that includes the Oval Office.
