Oscar Nominations 2014: Alfonso Cuaron, Emmanuel Lubezki, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Lopez To Represent Latinos

We also got super excited to know that some of our favorite Latinos causing major buzz this year were considered to take home one of the coveted golden statues. Alfonso Cuarón, for example was nominated for Best Director and Best Editing thanks to his film “Gravity,” the movie is also nominated for “Best Picture,” and Sandra Bullock as “Best Actress.” Emmanuel Lubezki got his six nomination for Best Cinematography, this time around for his work behind “Gravity”. And competing for “Best Actress in a Supporting Role” is our new favorite actress/fashion icon, the Kenyan-Mexican new star Lupita Nyong’o. Also Latin composer Robert López is competing for an Oscar for his song “Let It Go” for the animated movie “Frozen.”
