Ready for Julián?

*There’ve been many articles published over the weekend about San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro and his move from the helm of a city to a larger, national stage. All the articles say the same thing, with almost no variation. Castro’s move to HUD is a teeing to launch a possible VP bid in two years. In the past, the Vice Presidential vetting/sweepstakes have included Latinos – think Henry Cisneros, mostly cameos in the political theater of diversity. This move seems more substantial than that, more a chess move than a cameo. Although nothing is certain until a couple of summers form now. This Politico piece is concise, and says everything all of the other pieces have said. VL
