Immigrant Archive Project – 6 Word Immigrant Stories

By Victor Landa, NewsTaco

This is very cool.

It’s not so much a news story, opinion or analysis. It’s just something that caught my eye and I thought I’d pass it along.

It’s called the Immigrant Archive Project. The idea is for people to send their personal immigrant stories in a six word sentence. It’s not new. The most well known and original six-word story is attributed to Ernest Hemingway, who is said to have written this mini-epic: For sale: baby shoes, never worn.

Read them. Some are just as poignant as Hemingway’s, others are hilarious, all of them should resonate given our collective immigrant experience.

Here’s my favorite, so far: “Ni de aqui ni de allá.” – Jhoanna Astudillo
