►A quick note of the Fed and interest rates

They did nothing.

The members of the U.S. Federal reserve huddled for a couple of days and gave a report yesterday. The headline is that economic activity has slowed a little, household spending has “moderated,” so there’s no need to tweak the prime rate.

If you follow these things closely, and according to an EFE report published in Fox News Latino, ”The Fed . . . made no mention in its statement of global economic risks in justifying its decision not to hike rates, in contrast to previous statements where it had explicitly noted its doubts about China’s economy and problems in emerging markets.”
