Ramiro Garza To Announce South TX Congress Bid

Here’s a press release we came across, though the Texas Democratic Party told us he has yet to file. We previously noted that Armando Villalobos also announced his intentions to run.

(PORT ISABEL, TX) – Ramiro Garza, will officially announce his candidacy for Congress in Texas Congressional District 27. The district’s boundaries have recently changed as a result of redistricting after the 2010 U.S. Census. Previously the district included all of Nueces County and most of Cameron County. The new district now only encompasses the Western portion of Nueces and all of Cameron, Kleberg, Kenedy, and Willacy.

Ramiro Garza is a native of Port Isabel and most recently served as the City Manager for Edinburg, Texas. He is long-time economic development champion and civic leader. Garza’s family, friends and supporters will be on hand for the official announcement.
